Springfield Wednesday Newsletter - June 11, 2008

It was a hot, wet, and wild town last weekend with Surf Into Springfield, the annual Springfield Days event.   Thanks to Shanna Simonsen and Megan Williamson for organizing a successful weekend of events and to the Springfield Days committee for all your efforts.  A great big thanks goes out to all the many volunteers for your contribution to making Springfield Days a fun family weekend right here in Springfield.

In 1887 [the Ringling Brothers Circus] came back with a one-ring circus and pitched their tent on the bottoms west of town, and put on a performance afternoon and evening to a tent packed to capacity. They also had a small line of animals –elephants, lions, monkeys, etc.
