Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog stopped by Springfield ArtWorks in Springfield over the Thanksgiving holiday. Sparkles, along with her owner, Firefighter Dayna, left copies of their children's fire safety books and audio books, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog. The books, credited with helping save the lives of two families, are autographed by Firefighter Dayna and "pawed" by Sparkles. The book and audio book are just $10 a set and are available at the gallery/studio. Margie and Glenn, owners of the gallery are the proud grandparents of their grand dog, Sparkles.

"Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas" at the Lofte
Manley, NE - The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces that its holiday production of Robert Fulgham's "Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas" will open on Friday, December 4.  Fulgham is perhaps best known for writing the humorous book, "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten."
Directed by Kevin Colbert, "Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas" weaves together a string of Christmas stories and original holiday songs.  It is a charming look at the struggle to find the spirit of Christmas amid the avalanche of commercialism and chaos that descends upon us each December.  Actors will be accompanied on stage by Lynnette Zimmer playing a baby grand piano onstage through much of the show.
The cast consists of Chuck Danskin of Lincoln, Virginia Kincaid of Elkhorn, Scott Pope of Eagle, Anna Strobel of Omaha and Kevin Colbert of Weeping Water.  Performance dates are Dec 4-6, 11-13 and 17-20.  Showtimes are 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday.  Tickets are $16, and reservations can be made by calling the Lofte box office at (402) 234-2553 or purchased online at www.Lofte.com.
