Wednesday Morning September 28th – 7:45am The kids of the IMPACT Youth Group are hosting the See You at the Pole Event at flagpole in front of Platteview Central. This is a Student led prayer event where the kids spend 15 minutes praying for our schools, community, country and the world. All kids in Jr / Sr High are welcome to attend. Sunday October 2nd IMPACT is conducting our annual Toilet Paper Drive around Springfield. You make get a knock on your door Sunday October 2nd!! We are collecting TP for folks less fortunate than us. Why Toilet Paper? Well it is one of those items we all need but you can’t buy with most food assistance programs. If you are willing to help, pick up an extra package or two and drop them off in the entry of the Methodist church or see if the kids stop by!!

COME TO OUR ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension is hosting its annual Open House for Lincoln Public Schools at 6 to 8 p.m. October 3, 2016, at the Animal Science Complex on UNL East Campus.

Middle and high school students interested in pursuing a degree in animal science with a focus on companion animals, horses, or livestock, will have the opportunity to meet with our faculty and get information on majors and classes offered.

“The Open House is a great opportunity to learn how to connect your interest in animals to a college program and eventually your career,” Lisa Karr, Companion Animal Specialist, said.

“Students can learn about different aspects of animal science including nutrition, genetics, and health and get the opportunity to speak with professors and current students and experience hands on activities.”

Students will venture through the animal science building on a scavenger hunt for information.

They will also hear about the various animal-related organizations such as Equestrian team, Livestock and Horse Judging teams, Students for the Education of Exotic and Companion Animals, Pre-Vet Club, and Block and Bridle.

For more information, please contact Lisa Karr at 402-472-6458, (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.); or Lena

Luck at 402-472-9098, (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Open House.
