SARPY COUNTY OFFICES RESUMED FULL OPERATION
JUNE 15, 2020
Sarpy County offices resumed walk-in service starting Monday, June 15, while continuing to encourage the public to make appointments.
Walk-ins will be accepted for services at all Sarpy County offices. Please be aware that walk-ins may experience longer wait times than usual. To avoid these longer wait times, we recommend scheduling an appointment for in-person services. You can make an appointment on Sarpy.com.
Restrictions are easing up on social gatherings and businesses in Nebraska. Please be mindful of social distancing guidelines established by our local health department and local officials to keep our community safe.
The Springfield newsletter will continue to bring you news of announcements, important updates, fun tips, and maybe a joke or two just to lighten your day.
Check in for current information of up-to-the minute news. We will do what we can to make it through these times. Take care and hang in there everyone!

IT HAPPENED IN SPRINGFIELD HISTORY
Nina Meisinger was the “voice” of Springfield for forty-six years. She began her career as a reporter for the Springfield Monitor newspaper on April 1, 1940 and continued until she retired in 1986. Nina was the manager and correspondent for the weekly newspaper. She was also known as the “Cookie Lady” to all Springfield children. She loved to pass out cookies to any child who happened to be passing by her home on 2nd and Chestnut. She was married to Joe Meisinger for fifty-one years and had two sons, Donald and Gordon. Nina died in 1995 at the age of 93. She was much-loved in the Springfield community.
Funny Story
A priest buys a lawn mower at a yard sale. Back home, he pulls on the starter rope a few times with no results. He storms back to the yard sale and tells the previous owner, “I can’t get the mower to start!” “That’s because you have to curse to get it started,” says the man. “I’m a man of the cloth. I don’t even remember how to curse.” “You keep pulling on that rope, and it’ll come back to you.”
