Springfield History
A special census carried out by Sarpy County in 1969 revealed that the village of Springfield had a new population of 748. In comparison, the 1960 census recorded a population of 506. This growth was likely attributed to the new Gardens’ Addition, situated on North 7th, 8th Streets, and Elm Streets. Construction on the residential development began in 1961 with the first houses becoming occupied in 1962. Sarpy officials collected population figures to enhance the county’s allocation of various state appropriation funds, which were distributed based on the most recent official census data.

Springfield NOW
How exciting! Platteview High School took the stage at Omaha’s historic Orpheum Theater this weekend as part of the Nebraska Theater Academy Showcase, and what an incredible experience it was!
After earning the Nebraska High School Theater Academy’s Outstanding Musical Theatre Production award for Grease, the cast performed a medley from the show alongside some of Nebraska’s top high school theatre programs. One thing became immediately clear: no one appreciates musical theatre quite like a packed house full of theatre students. The applause, cheering, and energy throughout the performance were unforgettable.

Insurance Tip of the Week- Road trip season is here!
Before you hit the road, make sure your vehicle is serviced and fluids, tires, and brakes are checked. Plan your route with flexibility, download entertainment ahead of time, and pack chargers and a backup battery. Share driving when possible and take breaks to stay alert. A little preparation goes a long way toward a safer, smoother trip. Also, be sure to have your roadside service number handy—do you have this option on your policy? It’s not very expensive and can be a lifesaver when you need it.

-------------
-----------
Fit Tip of the Week-Fuel your body with fruit and keep yourself hydrated.
Walk the town and those steps add up fast! Walking helps your heart, muscles, and energy levels. Stay hydrated too — water helps regulate body temperature, supports joints, and keeps your body running strong.
“To listen is to lean in, softly, with a willingness to be changed.”
