Eight students completed the Young Writer’s Workshop at Springfield Memorial Library on March 20th. For five weeks, the students met after school at the library to learn the method of writing a creative story by prewriting, writing, revising, editing and publishing their finished work. While developing their stories, the young writers shared ideas and helped one another through the writing process with constructive comments and encouragement. Student’s stories were titled the following:
A Good Friend by Catie Applegarth
Good Friends by Stacy Bartels
Time of the Riders by Matt Gourley
What Happens to Best Friends by Raelyn Haubensak
A Father’s Gift by Emma Johnson
Allie’s Amazing Life That Includes Time Travel by Shayla Kotrous
The Sword of the Overtime by Sam Keyes
Back to the Past by Whitney Pratt
During the last session, students made brownie sundaes and constructed a journal so they will be able to continue writing in the future.
