What’s New in Springfield, NE
April 25, 2007
With all the sadness and tragic events going on in our world, it’s time to think happy thoughts. What makes you happy? I can think of the usual things that fulfill my life …my family, friends, pets, my job. Sometimes it’s the little things in life that keep us content. Cake makes me happy! Cake with yummy, sweet frosting! Visiting at a recent family event, I found out my cake obsession maybe an inherited trait. My grandfather ate yellow cake everyday at his noon dinner meal and more than one family member admitted to the same fondness for this sweet treat. Imagine your life without those small things that help you make it through your day. Just think, it may be a genetic characteristic you inherited from your ancestors. Now, will someone please open a bakery in Springfield?
A hint from the 1967 Farmer’s Almanac:
“How Children Should Act With Their Parents in Public”
• Treat your mother like a lady and your father like a gentleman, and you can’t help impressing the world with your own charm and poise.
