What’s New in Springfield, NE
August 8, 2007
Springfield, NE grew larger last week with all the visitors for the annual Sarpy County Fair. The fair was held Wednesday through Sunday with an array of events and entertainment. It was time to celebrate the tradition of 4-H and open class competitions, agriculture, and family life. This year an added celebration included the Sarpy County Sesquicentennial, 1857- 2007, festivities. For anyone who would like to send me your special pictures of happenings at the fair, email to: Editor@springfieldnebraska.com and I will include them in the next few newsletters. A big thanks goes out to all the many folks who work so hard each and every year at creating a successful Sarpy County Fair & Rodeo!!!

Now that the fair is over, it’s back to school time in Springfield. Next Tuesday, August 14th , kids in Springfield and the surrounding area will pack their backpacks with those newly purchased school supplies and head back to class. Right now teachers are preparing their classrooms for students. It’s time to get back into the school year routine with re-established bedtimes, homework schedules, and lunch time choices. Remember also up to date immunizations are required for all school children in Nebraska.
