GIVING THANKS
Celebrating the holidays begins tomorrow with Thanksgiving Day. Let us remember the importance of giving thanks. We thank our families for supporting us through times of happiness and sorrow. We thank friends who for enrich our lives with the gift of friendship. We are grateful for nice homes, good food, gainful employment, and a great community. We should all be thankful for living in this magnificent country. As Americans, we sometimes take for granted the privilege to live as we do with our freedoms of speech, religion, and all the rights the constitution affords us. Let us all stop and say a prayer of thanksgiving on Thanksgiving Day.
Aren’t there always little things that we should also be thankful for? You know those small luxuries or little necessities that help us make it through life. I am so thankful for whoever invented them.
My list:
Cinnamon rolls – yum!
Thick socks – oh, my aching feet
The remote control – I can veg on the sofa.
Showers – nice & hot
Garage door openers- Who wants to get out in the rain?
Liquid soap – ditch those bars
Cell phones- remember pay phones, ugh! (could be conceived as an important necessity)
Paper clips – keeps me organized
And speaking of being grateful (the list goes on and on, doesn’t it?), I would like to thank John and Irina Harrington at Wirebuilt for all their hard work and determination for keeping this enterprise going. They give all the community editors support and keep the community websites up and running.

~ To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.
