Welcome Back
HEY SPRINGFIELD, SPRINGFIELD IS GROWING! LET'S TALK ABOUT IT.
Happy Middle of October Springfield! Im sure you noticed all the new home development happening around Springfield? Several neighborhoods are in the works! Village on Main, near 132nd and Main Streets, is planned to include single-family homes, townhomes, bungalows, and cottages. Springview, near 132nd Street and Pflug Road, includes plans for 94 homesites. Springfield Highlands and Fairmont are also among the developments planned for our growing community. These plans bring exciting possibilities for new neighbors and local businesses. As Springfield grows, the big question is how we can welcome that growth while preserving the small-town charm we love. Keep an eye on the City of Springfield’s development updates to see what’s next! Reminder, Growth can bring new customers for local businesses, new neighbors, and opportunities for families. It also means planning carefully so we can preserve the qualities that make Springfield a wonderful place to call home.
LET'S TALK REAL ESTATE!
With so much development happening in and around our community, real estate is a natural part of the conversation. Molly Amick with Nebraska Realty, who can help you better understand what's happening in today's local housing market.
Whether you're a longtime homeowner, thinking about selling, hoping to purchase your first home, or simply curious about how Springfield's growth may affect property values, understanding the market can help you make informed decisions. Housing prices, the number of homes available, interest rates, and buyer demand can all influence the market. New construction can also create choices for buyers while bringing questions about how existing homes compare. Have real estate questions? Give Molly a call!

Springfield History
The Springfield Rescue Unit was established in 1958, consisting of eight men and eight women who volunteered their services. The rescue squad operated with a one-and-a-half-ton truck, outfitted with two stretchers, a bed, oxygen, resuscitation equipment, bandages, and splints. Funded by donations, the vehicle cost $4,000. It was purchased from the Omaha Civil Defense Organization. The squad answered its first call on November 22, 1958.

Insurance Tip of the Week: Your Homeowners Policy Has a Blind Spot!
Water damage can get tricky when it comes to insurance!
Did you know your homeowners policy typically does NOT cover flood damage? Water backing up through a drain or overflowing from a sump pump may also require separate coverage or an endorsement. Don't wait until water is in your basement to find out what's covered!

Talk to your insurance agent today! Review your policy, understand your coverage, and know where you may have gaps before water damage happens.
A little preparation today can save you a lot of headaches tomorrow

OCTOBER FIT TIP: NEW SEASON, SAME COMMITMENT!
The seasons change, and so do our needs! Cooler mornings, shorter days, and falling temperatures mean we may need to dress warmer, adjust our routines, and find new ways to stay active.
Don't let cooler weather cool off your fitness goals!
Here are a few simple reminders from Treadmill Rambles With Grace In Action:
- Dress for the weather. Layer up for outdoor walks, and remember that mornings can be chilly even when afternoons warm up.
- Keep moving. Walking, lifting weights, riding a stationary bike, or working out at home all count. If the weather keeps you indoors, have a backup plan.
- Fuel your body. Keep choosing protein, vegetables, and balanced meals. Fall treats are tempting, but one season shouldn't undo the healthy habits you've worked hard to build.
- Stay consistent. You don't need a perfect workout or a perfect day. You need to keep showing up and doing the work.
- Take care of yourself. Warm up before exercising, stay hydrated, and pay attention to changing weather and slippery surfaces.
At Treadmill Rambles, we believe fitness is about more than a number on the scale. It's about building strength, improving our health, and being able to do more of the things we love.
This October, enjoy the beautiful fall weather, support your local community, and keep moving—one step at a time!
The best pace? The one that gets you moving consistently.
Keep it simple. Eat right. Work out hard. Recover. Repeat.
— Treadmill Rambles
The goal isn't perfection. The goal is to keep showing up. One small choice today can lead to another tomorrow, and before you know it, those little choices become habits.
Eat right. Work out hard. Keep moving!
And if you like a little motivation with your workout, check out Treadmill Rambles!

Did You Know?
Did you know Springfield had 1,501 residents within its city limits in the 2020 Census? But that doesn't tell the whole story! When nearby residential subdivisions, known as Sanitary Improvement Districts (SIDs), are included, the 2024 population estimate rises to about 2,000 people.
And Springfield's future could look very different! The city's 2025 Comprehensive Plan projects a potential population of 7,376 by 2050, based on projected Sarpy County growth and an estimated share of that growth coming to Springfield. With new homes and neighborhoods taking shape both inside and around town, Springfield is preparing for change. We’re a small community, and a friendly smile, an invitation, or a simple hello can make someone feel welcome.
