2026 Farmers Market!

2026 FARMERS MARKET - Hosted at the VFW in Springfield

 June 28
July 26
August 23
September 27

Fresh garden food, local market finds, handmade goods, and all your Springfield favorites—just a weeks away!

This isn’t just shopping… it’s a full family day out.

Plan to stroll through the booths, grab something fresh, and make a day of it. Bring the kids, bring a friend, meet up with neighbors, or just wander and enjoy the summer energy.

MoPac Trail is right there if you want to walk it off or Bike cruise before or after. And yes—there’s even a winery right across the way if you’re making it a “grown-up afternoon out” kind of day.

Got something you make or grow? This is your sign—set up a booth and be part of the fun. You never know who’s been looking for exactly what you’ve got.

Springfield History

The 1995 Platteview High School Golf Team

The 1995 Platteview High School Golf Team, led by Coach Bill Buza, featured seniors Alan Hans andMatt Wennestedt, as well as juniors John Wesley Crockett and Aaron Mesek. Unfortunately, the teamfaced a challenging district, resulting in no golfers qualifying for the state tournament. However, therewere great expectations for the 1996 team, as it would welcome several younger players to enhance the roster.

Insurance Tip of the Week- Claims

Having claims on your record can sometimes make it harder to stay insured with your current carrier. In some cases, policyholders may even face non-renewals or limited coverage options.

If you find yourself in this situation, don’t panic—there are still options available.

We work with multiple insurance carriers and markets that specialize in placing homes other companies may decline. Even if it’s no longer with Farmers, we can often help find a solution that keeps your home properly protected.

If you’re concerned about your coverage or have received a notice, give us a call so we can review your options and help you stay insured. #StoskopfInsurance

Fit Tip of the Week: Keep It Simple. Stay Consistent.

Did you know one of the best natural fat burners is muscle?

Muscle burns more calories even when you are resting. You do not need fancy workouts or hours at the gym either. Simple strength training a few times a week can help boost metabolism, improve balance, strengthen bones, and make everyday life easier.

Easy places to start:

  • Wall push-ups while waiting for coffee
  • Sit-to-stands from a chair
  • Carrying groceries with good posture
  • Light dumbbell or resistance band exercises
  • Squats holding onto the kitchen counter

The goal is not perfection. The goal is consistency. A little strength today helps build independence for tomorrow.

Did You Know?

Did you know May Day baskets are a spring tradition where people leave small baskets of flowers or treats on neighbors’ doors, usually secretly and then run away before they are caught. The tradition comes from old European spring celebrations and became popular in the United States in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It’s a simple way to spread kindness and celebrate the arrival of spring.
