“Platteview High School’s Record-Breaking 1978-1979 Basketball Season”

The girls' varsity basketball team at Platteview High School concluded the 1978–1979 season as the 1979 District Champions and runners-up in State Class B. With twenty-three wins, the highest point total (1,354), highest average (56.4), highest rebound total (1,005), and greatest rebound average (41.8 points) of the team's basketball season, the team concluded their campaign with school records. Chris Leigh, a junior, set a record with 513 points during the 1978–1979 girls’ basketball season.
