 SPRINGFIELD LIBRARY CELEBRATES NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK IN 1984

The Springfield Public Library kicked-off National Library Week with an open house on April 8, 1984. Sponsored by the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department, a visit by Smoky the Bear was an exciting part of the festivities. Exhibits, refreshments, and reading were enjoyed by the community. Listening to a book read by Theresa Meister included: (left to right) Angie Glesmann age 6, daughter of Dean and Rietta Glesmann; Theresa’s daughter’s Jenny, age 5 and Beth, age 3.
