HAPPY THANKSGIVING to one and all!

It’s the day we get to stuff ourselves with turkey and all the trimmings surrounded by family and friends and thank our God for living in this exquisitely, wonderful country.  This was my message last year and I feel it is still appropriate this year.

Celebrating the holidays begins tomorrow with Thanksgiving Day. Let us remember the importance of giving thanks. We thank our families for supporting us through times of happiness and sorrow. We thank friends who enrich our lives with the gift of friendship. We are grateful for nice homes, good food, gainful employment, and a great community. We should all be thankful for living in this magnificent country. As Americans, we sometimes take for granted the privilege to live as we do with our freedoms of speech, religion, and all the rights the constitution affords us. Let us all stop and say a prayer of thanksgiving on Thanksgiving Day.
A great big “Happy Thanksgiving” to all our Military Troops serving overseas. We appreciate your heroic service to our country and pray for your safe return back home to your loved ones.

And to all you guys out there watching Football while your wives are in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning, "Get up and go help out."  Your wife will THANK YOU!
November 20 was Thanksgiving Craft Day at the Springfield Library.
