Once again the Springfield Knights of Columbus are giving away NEW Winter Coats, Hats, and Gloves to children in need. If your child is in need or if you know of someone in need, call 402 707-8426. Sizes range from Pre School to Middle School/Junior High. This is a strictly confidential project.

LOCAL MAN GRADUATES

UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS BOOT CAMP

Pvt. Jordan Taylor Moore, 19, of Springfield, NE graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on November 2, 2012. Pvt. Moore successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego as one of 94 recruits in Training Platoon 2143. Following ten days home on leave he/she will report to Camp Pendleton for one month at Military Combat Training then Military Occupation Specialty school.

VFW COMMUNITY BREAKFAST

Last Sunday of each month from October through April, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Legion Hall in Springfield.   Cost is $6.50 for adults and 3.00 for children aged 5 to 12.  Breakfast includes all-you-care to eat pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs, hash browns, ham and sausage links and patties.  Included is coffee, orange juice and milk.
