BALLOT COLLECTION PLACES
The S.A.F.E. Committee is offering ballot collection places for school district residents who want to vote in the school bond election, and might like a convenient option that doesn't require a stamp.
There will be two collection places - the Springfield Library parking lot (665 Main Street) and the West Mart store parking lot, near Westmont Elementary (11202 Richland Drive). There will be member of the S.A.F.E. committee there to collect ballots from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. on Thursday October, 31st and Friday, November 1st and then again on Tuesday the 5th, Wednesday the 6th, Thursday the 7th and Friday the 8th at those same times and locations.
This is an approved and legal method for returning ballots. Residents who want to confirm the Election Commission received their ballot can call them at 402-593-2167 to assure that their ballots arrived.
The ballot collection locations are being offered for convenience of those who want to vote and save time and the cost of a stamp.
Winter Coat Give Away
For the 4th year in a row the St. Joseph Knights of Columbus are giving away New Winter Coats ( and with the help from some friends of the Knights, hats and gloves will also be given with the coats) to children in need. Sizes range from 7 thru 16 for girls and 8 thru 18 for boys. If you have a child or children in need or know of someone in need call 402-707-8426 or talk to the Human Resources person at the schools of the Springfield Platteview School District. This is a totally confidential project.
Thanks, the St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Springfield.
