HEARTS TO HANDS MINISTRY
We are inviting any and all who are interested in Knitting, Crocheting and Sewing, to participate in our ministry. We have three programs that we support, KAS Care which is an organization that puts together 8x8 inch squares of knitting or crocheting to create blankets for orphan children in South Africa. What is needed by them are 8x8 inch squares of knitted/crocheted squares with a tail of 24 inches attached to it.
We also support our local NICU with preemie baby items for families who will be taking their precious babies home, who are still quite small. We donate hats, booties and blankets. And this can take the form of knitting, crocheting or sewn items.
And the last item we are looking for help with are, Chemo Caps. These are provided to Methodist Hospital to those people who are going through Chemotherapy. They should be made with soft fibers and fabrics, since their skin is very sensitive. These also may be knitted, crocheted or sewn.
Hearts to Hands meets every Thursday evenings at the 1st United Methodist Church in Springfield. But it is not necessary for you to attend the meetings. If you would like to participate in this all we ask is that you bring your items to the church or library.
Any and all items will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

COMEDY ‘SELF-HELP’ OPENS AT MAHONEY STATE PARK
Pictured on Attachment: Front- Brandy Palatas and Kevin Colbert. Center- Harold Scott, Shari Hoelker and Jim Knierim. Back- Stacy White.
KBC Productions will open the comedy production, ‘Self-Help,’ on March 8th at the Kountze Theater in Mahoney State Park. Written by Norm Foster, ‘Self-Help,’ tells of Hal and Cindy Savage who reinvent themselves as self-help gurus and relationship experts. When their own marriage starts to take a nosedive and they find a dead man in their study, their professional status hangs in the balance. This is an adult farce with hilarious situations. Director Kevin Colbert suggests a PG-13 rating.
Kevin Colbert also stars in this production along with Brandy Palatas of Papillion as his wife. Stacy White and Shari Hoelker of Omaha, Jim Knierim of Louisville and Harold Scott of Lincoln round out the cast. Performance dates are March 8, 9, 14-16, 21-23, 28-30, April 4-6, 11-13, 18 and 19. Curtain times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm. Sunday performances are 2pm matinees.
Mahoney State Park is located off the interstate on exit 426. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children under 12. While some tickets are available at the door, you can call to reserve your tickets at (402) 944-2523 ext 7122. A valid park entry permit is required.
