The Santee family invites the public to the bench dedication ceremony at Springfield Memorial Library. The bench was given in memory of Carl Santee, a World War II veteran and to all military past and present. The Patriot Guard will be attending.

FLAG RETIREMENT

Springfield American Legion Post 143 will provide proper retirement for the Flag of the United States of America. If your flag is tattered, torn, ripped or faded drop it in the flag box located at the front of the American Legion Hall, 166 S. 2nd Street in Springfield. All flags collected will be retired on MondayJune 16at the Legion Sale Site on Pflug Road at6:30 p.m.The public is welcome to witness.

Summit Health Physical Therapy is excited to announce that we are adding to our fitness classes!  In addition to our ongoing Yoga classes, we will be now offering Mat Pilates on Wednesdays at 5:00 PM!  Chris Sebesta is a local Pilates instructor that brings her extensive experience to the community.  She will help you find and strengthen your core!  We will see you on Wednesdays at 5:00 PM at Summit Health!

TWIN FIDDLING WORKSHOP

The Old Avoca Schoolhouse, in Avoca, Nebraska, is offering a TWIN FIDDLING WORKSHOP, on Saturday, August 2, from 10 AM - 12 Noon, in the Old Avoca Schoolhouse. This workshop, led by championship fiddler and author Deborah Greenblatt, is perfect for fiddlers who want to learn to play duets with other fiddlers.  Students of all ages will learn how to construct their own harmony parts by ear, and by writing the notes down in standard notation.  Tunes will range in difficulty from easy to intermediate.  Fiddle tunes from many traditions will be explored, including Irish, Swedish, Klezmer, Cajun, Scottish, etc.
