FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF SPRINGFIELD – IMPACT GROUP

YOUTH MISSION TRIP

Thank you to our congregation and Springfield community members that made this mission trip possible. We had a great trip. This year we went to Eagle Butte, SD (Cheyenne River Reservation). Besides our group there were two other church groups, one from Minnesota and the other from Indiana. All great kids are a lot of fun to work with.

While there, we were able to do a lot of work in the community, from building fences and porch stairs to helping in a community garden. There were also opportunities to prepare meals and serve in a couple of local soup kitchens. As well as the chance to play with some really fun local kids at a Kids Club we hosted.

There were also some great opportunities to worship Christ and come together as a very tight group. The incoming seniors did a fantastic job leading the talks during our Church Group time. I heard several times that the talks were just awesome. I think that the message means more coming from each other. I was so proud of them!! I need to take a moment and give a very big warm Thanks to Suzi Miller and Rod Jones for being our adult leaders. They did a wonderful job with the kids and there are not enough words of thanks that I can supply.

All said and done – It was an awesome trip. I appreciate the love and support that we receive from you, our community. Thank You! We can’t wait till next year!!

The First United Methodist Church of Springfield – IMPACT Group is welcoming new 7^th Graders on up from the community to join!! You do not have to be a member of the church but you are welcome to visit any Sunday for services. J

We will have our big welcome Kick-Off for you on Sunday August 17^th 4:00 PM – Families Welcome!! We will get together and have our fall planning meeting to pass out the fall schedule then have some fun and enjoy a hot dog cook-out. This will be a potluck so please bring a small dish or dessert to share.
