KODY KRAPP MEMORIAL BENEFIT

Friends and family of Kody Krapp, 6-year old son of Chad and Kelly Krapp of Gretna are hosting a benefit pancake feed and silent auction in memory of Kody, who passed away November 6, 2014 after complications from open-heart surgery.

Memorial benefit will be held Sunday November 23 at the Fire Hall, 512 Washington Street in Dorchester, NE from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with free-will donations at the door.  Alternately, donations any be made at any Pinnacle Bank in the state of Nebraska or mailed to:

TRIBUTE TO SPRINGFIELD NATIVE

MARINE STAFF SGT. MIKE BOCK

Senator Larry Metz of Florida presented a Bill to the Florida legislator to honor the Fallen Heroes. The Governor signed the Bill to dedicate part of a State Highway “SSgt Michael A Bock Memorial Highway”.This ceremony is scheduled January 30, 2015.

For the 5th year in a row the Springfield St. Joseph Knights of Columbus are participating in a worldwide program to give away New Winter coats to children in need. The coats vary in size and typically fit Girls and Boys from Elementary thru Middle school children. If you have a child or children or if you know of someone who has a child or children in need of a new Winter Coat and cannot afford to purchase one please call me and we will try to get you fixed up. MARGIE TREMBLEY CHAPEAUX HATS

TRAVEL TO FRANCE

Margie Trembley, co-owner of Springfield Artworks recently was selected to have three of her Margie Trembley Chapeaux creations photographed in Paris, France for Ish magazine, a new web magazine out next year.

Camille Renee, architectural photographer from Des Moines, IA took Margie's hats with her for the photo shoot which included the Eiffel Tower, The Opera House, a Paris Hotel and other locations.

"I was so excited to be asked by Camille to take photos of my hats in Paris," Margie said when describing the invitation from Camille. "I look forward to sharing those pictures soon." A couple have appeared on the Margie Trembley a Chapeaux and Margie Trembley Facebook pages.

Springfield Artworks continues to celebrate its fifth anniversary in business in Springfield all this month. Stop in to wish them continued success. Platte River Christmas, a celebration of the importance of the Platte River continues through December. Special art demos and art talks will be given in December on Saturdays.

Ruth Ann Nordin of Springfield received first place for the first 1,000 words of her upcoming romance, His Convenient Wife, in the Heart of America Christian Writers Network contest of Overland Park, Kan., last week. Janet Syas Nitsick of Springfield placed second in that same contest for her recently released romance, Courtships and Carriages
