GET READY FOR A TOILET PAPER DRIVE SUNDAY OCTOBER 4TH!!!
DO YOU HAVE A SQUARE TO SPARE??
We are getting ready for our annual TP Drive around Springfield!! Weather permitting, the IMPACT youth group from the Methodist Church will be going door to door Sunday October 4th to collect rolls of toilet paper. It will go to a variety of places such as Carol’s House of Hope and various nonprofit food pantries. In case you didn’t realize TP can’t be purchased with government aid but it is still a necessity. In case we miss your home or you want to just to drop it off – there will be a box in the Church entry. Thank you so much for your help! This is always a fun event for the kids, knocking on doors and asking for square to spare!!

CALLING ALL KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS
This will be the 5th year the St. Joseph's Knights of Columbus take part in the coats for kids program, helping children in our community. The past 2 years we have had hats, gloves and scarves donated to go along with the coats. We have experienced such a demand, this year we have purchased 72 coats to donate which is 33% more than the past years. We would like to have donations of hats, mittens and scarves again. We gladly accept all colors and we are looking for kids sizes 4-10 for the mittens. If you are interested in donating please contact Ralph Meister 402 707-8426. The Cast of “Nana’s Naughty Knickers,” at the Lofte Community Theatre. Front row left to right, Shelia Hansen, Shari Hoelker, Alyssa DiPaolo and Brenda Jones. Back row, Ross Mumford, Jestin Jones, Ken Snyder, Jeff Johnston and Melinda Mead.
The Lofte Community Theatre announces the opening of their next production, “Nana’s Naughty Knickers,” on Saturday, October 10 at 7:30pm. Written by Katherine DiSavino, the script is a fast-paced comedic farce that has become the Lofte’s fall tradition.
Bridget is a young woman who is about to become roommates with her sweet little Grandma in a rent-controlled apartment in New York City. However, what Bridget first saw as an easy opportunity quickly turns into mayhem. It seems that sweet little Nana is running an illegal boutique from their apartment, selling naughty hand-made lingerie to local senior citizens.
Alyssa DiPaolo of Lincoln and Shari Hoelker of Omaha play Bridget and her grandmother, respectively. Rounding out the cast are Brenda Jones of Louisville, Ross Mumford, Jestin Jones and Shelia Hansen of Lincoln, Wendy Allen and Melinda Mead of Plattsmouth and Jeff Johnston and Ken Snyder both of Elmwood. The production is directed by Kevin Colbert.
The production runs October 10, 11, 15-18 and 23-25. Thursday through Saturday evening shows begin at 7:30pm. Sunday performances are 2pm matinees. Tickets are $19 with special discounts offered to groups of twenty or more. The Lofte is located near the town of Manley in Cass County. Those interested in tickets should call the Lofte box office at 402-234-2553 or visit their website, www.Lofte.com.

NINETEENTH ANNUAL SCHOOLHOUSE FIDDLING BEE
Greenblatt & Seay proudly announce the Nineteenth ANNUAL SCHOOLHOUSE FIDDLING BEE. This historical, hysterical event will take place on Sunday, October 11, at 2:30 PM, downstairs in the Old Avoca, Nebraska Schoolhouse. There will also be other divisions of competition available for the adventurous fiddlers, including a Singing Fiddler's Contest, a Twin Fiddler's Contest, a Fee-Fi-Faux Fiddler's Contest (fiddle tunes played on any instrument other than a fiddle), and a Hocus-Pocus Contest (cross-tuning, sound effects, dancing, etc.), which will give fiddlers an opportunity to play tunes that are usually not allowed in any other contest.
