Lofte Community Theatre Brings Home State Honors!
On Saturday, July 23, the Lofte Community Theatre participated in the Nebraska Association of Community Theatres Festival in Minden, NE. The association holds a biennial play competition and 2016 saw the Lofte walking away with the top prize! The Lofte cast and crew not only won Outstanding Production, but Doug Rothgeb won Supporting Actor. Silvia Conley won Supporting Actress and Nick Haussler won Outstanding Set Design.
The play is a competition piece written by Mark Kenneally. The comedy is the story of red-neck named Wally who curses the name of Shakespeare and opts to attend a monster truck rally instead of “As You Like It.” Wally soon feels the wrath of the Bard as he wakes the next morning after a rough night out, finding he can only speak in Shakespearian verse.
Directed by Allison Bauers of Louisville, the Lofte cast and crewhave advanced to the regional competition which will be held in April 2017 in Brainerd, MN.

Lofte Community Theatre 40th Birthday Bash!
2016 marks the Lofte Community Theatre's 40th season. They are celebrating their “Ruby Jubilee" in style with a informal birthday party on Saturday, August 13 at 7:30pm. There is a small admission fee of $5.
The Lofte has grown from a small group of locals who put up a play in a neighbor’s barn to an important regional arts center. Literally thousands of individuals have graced the stage and/or attended one of their events. The Lofte is celebrating their accomplishments with cake, ice cream and loads of quality entertainment. You will see familiar faces from the forty-year history as Lofte alumni treat you to some of your favorite show tunes.
Purchase tickets in advance or at the door. Come and celebrate the theatre's rich history and share the evening with good friends.
