DEVASTATING STORM HITS SPRINGFIELD AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITY

Friday night’s storm left our town and the surrounding area with substantial damage. Homes and trees are affected. Power has still not been restored to many of our neighbors although OPPD is working hard to get power back to everyone. Also, greatly affected is the surrounding farming community and smaller subdivisions. Power lines are down across country roads and damage to outbuildings and homes is considerable. Gov. Ricketts declared a state of emergency for Sarpy County.

The community of Springfield came together working hard to cleanup, with neighbors helping neighbors. Thanks to all for your efforts in removing the storm debris. Thank you to city maintenance crews an amazing job of moving debris off streets and all their hard work in returning us back to normal.

MASTER GARDENERS

The gardens at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds suffered significant damage. A huge tree was uprooted. Clean up will be taking place at the fairgrounds. It is so sad to see this beautiful place in shambles.
