HAPPENING NEARBY
The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces it will hold a free Veterans Day concert honoring all who have served our country. The concert will take place on Sunday, November 12 at 2pm.
The concert will include patriotic song selections performed by the Southeast Nebraska Community Band. The SENCB is made up of individuals from 11 different counties throughout Nebraska. Some members have their roots playing with military bands in the Army or Air Force. Others are former music teachers while still others just have a love of performing.
Veterans Day traces its roots to the end of World War I which ended on November 11, 1918. The official name was changed from Armistice Day to Veterans Day in 1954. While Memorial Day honors those who died during their military service, Veterans Day honors all current and past U.S. military veterans.
This is an amazing event that will honor all Veterans who have served our country. Bring your friends and family. This is an inspirational event best enjoyed with a large group.
