Welcome Back, Springfield Community!

Father's Day is Sunday!

Did you know that the first Father’s Day was celebrated on June 19, 1910, in Spokane, Washington? It was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd, who wanted to honor her father, a Civil War veteran who raised six children as a single parent.

In celebration of all the amazing dads out there, here are some fantastic ways to make this Father's Day extra special:

Donuts with Dad: Start the day with a sweet treat and spend some quality time together. Our local bakeries have special Father's Day donut deals that you won’t want to miss!

Father’s Day Picnic: Pack a picnic basket and head to one of Springfield’s beautiful parks. Enjoy the outdoors, play some games, and create lasting memories.

DIY Gifts: Nothing says "I love you" like a handmade gift. Get creative with DIY projects like personalized cards, photo frames, or a scrapbook of cherished memories.

Family BBQ: Fire up the grill and gather the family for a delicious BBQ. Share stories, laugh together, and make the day special with Dad’s favorite foods.

Outdoor Adventures: Plan a day of fun activities like hiking, fishing, or biking. Springfield offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and have an adventure with Dad.
