Welcome Back Springfield!

As we kick off the first week of school, It's the perfect time to welcome everyone back and focus on making this school year the best one yet.

Safety First: Watch for Younger Drivers

With school back in session, there are more young drivers on the roads. It's important for all of us to be extra cautious. Whether you're dropping off your kids or just passing through school zones, remember to slow down, stay alert, and be patient. Younger drivers are still gaining experience, and your extra caution can help prevent accidents.

With that being Said, First what is going on in Springfield - Driver Ed is once again being held at Platteview HS. Keep in Mind, it could get your a discount on your insurance policy.

 It Happened in Springfield

Xenia School, District #17
Students and their teacher posing at the school.

The one-room country school, Xenia School, was located on
192nd & Buffalo Rd. The school
first began in 1864 belonging to the town of Xenia. The small town of Xenia also included a post office, blacksmith shop, and general store. In 1880 a new building was constructed for students to attend.
As town of Springfield began to grow many of the businesses and residents of Xenia drifted away.
The school building began to serve other purposes for the community such as a polling place, dance hall, and other social events.
Students who attended Xenia School recalled
electricity being installed in 1946, but the school had no indoor plumbing.
Their water came from a well outside. Students brought their lunches every day and stored them in the cloak room near the back of the school.
The teacher was the whole staff. She was the principal,
nurse, and custodian. Sadly, Xenia School closed after the 1958-1959 school year. The school building burned down in 1995.

Unveiling the Hidden Gem: Come Jam at Our Secret Spot!

COME ON OVER!

This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity.  People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.

Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.
