Welcome Back, Springfield!

Let’s kick off this week with a reminder about the amazing community stores right here on Main Street!  These local businesses are the heart of our town, and they need our support now more than ever. Whether you're looking for unique gifts, delicious treats, or essential services, our community stores have it all! Let’s make a commitment to shop local, spread the word, and help our favorite shops thrive. Together, we can make a big impact!

And don’t forget to swing by Black Sheep Coffee on Platteview Road!  It’s the perfect place to kickstart your day with a delicious cup of coffee. Let’s support our local businesses and enjoy everything they have to offer!

Let’s show our love for Main Street and give our local businesses the support they deserve!

Also, did you get a chance to see the incredible Veteran’s Day celebration at Platteview High School? What an amazing event! It was truly heartwarming to see our community come together to honor those who have served. A huge thank you to the high school staff and students for their dedication and for showing such deep appreciation to our incredible veterans. Your efforts made this celebration unforgettable!

Unveiling the Hidden Gem: Come Jam at Our Secret Spot!

COME ON OVER!

This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity.  People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.

Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.

Cookie of the Week!

To spread holiday cheer, we’ll be sharing a different Christmas cookie recipe each week until Christmas. This is also a reminder that the Springfield Memorial Library’s annual Cookie Sale is coming up on December 14, 2024. Stop by to pick up delicious homemade treats and support our library!

Have a favorite holiday recipe? Send it our way! We’d love to feature recipes from our community.

Butterfinger Balls - Sugar and Soul

Ingredients:

1⅓ cup Peanut Butter

½ cup salted butter softened

1 teaspoons Vanilla extract

2 cups Powdered Sugar

1½ cups  plus more for topping (optional)

3 cups Chocolate Pro Chocolate Melting Wafers

Cream the peanut butter, salted butter, and vanilla extract together in a large

bowl.

Sift the powdered sugar into the bowl. Then beat the mixture until smooth.

Stir in the Butterfinger bits. Next, place the mixture into the refrigerator to chill.

Scoop out the filling mixture and roll it into balls. Afterward, place them on a

parchment paper-lined baking sheet and transfer them to the freezer to chill.

Melt the chocolate melting wafers before removing the balls from the freezer.

Dip each Butterfinger ball into the melted chocolate and then place them back on

the parchment paper.

Sprinkle the tops with Butterfinger Bits and then allow the chocolate to harden.
