Sun Dogs in the southern sky could be seen above Buffalo Park.

Oh the weather outside is frightful! Break out the hot chocolate! Yes, this week all Springfielders are experiencing extremely cold temperatures. If not dressed properly, it is mighty easy to be at risk for frostbite.  Be sure to wear hats, mittens, scarves, warm socks, and dress in layers.  Bundle up those kids who are headed outdoors. Tell those teens to take that coat along…just in case!

Let’s help out the neighbors for a very good cause. The Elmwood- Murdoch High School Choir is invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.  So obviously, fundraisers are now in the works.  A total of $2000 is needed for each choir member to make this momentous trip. Making this once in a lifetime event even more special , is the fact that the whole trip is dedicated to Dillion Synovec, Tyler Eggert,  and A.J. Washington, the three Elmwood- Murdoch High teens and members of the choir who recently  perished in an automobile accident. A Youth-to Carnegie Hall Soup Supper at the Murdoch Old Gym will be held January 17 from 5-8pm. The cost is $5.00 per person.  A silent auction and entertainment take place throughout the evening. I am sure that all donations to this cause would be very much appreciated. ~Thanks to Susan Peplow for this story idea.
