Those Library quilting ladies are at again… making a quilt for the Springfield Memorial Library Quilt Raffle. This quilt measures 50”x 66” and is the perfect size for snuggling up in on those chilly winter nights.  The raffle will not take place until after the 2009 Sarpy County Fair but chances are on sale now.  Raffle tickets may be purchased at the library and are selling for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. All proceeds benefit the library.
Sorry I goofed last week! I listed the United Methodist church Youth Group hosting its annual Game Feed and Auction on January 11 The actual date is February 21 from 5-8pm. So mark your calendars for that date.

Thanks to our local law enforcement officers for keeping us all safe out on the roads and highways during the past Holiday season. The Sarpy County Sheriffs department participated in the “You drink, you drive, you lose” campaign that was held from December 5-January 3, 2009  This operation was made possible by a grant for overtime for the officers from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety. Many traffic tickets, arrests, and other citations were issued during this campaign.
Happy 80th Birthday to John Milks! He celebrated this special day with family and friends at an Open House at Springfield’s First United Methodist Church last Saturday, January
