SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15 -JR HIGH/HIGH SCHOOL iPAD DEPLOYMENT MEETING BEGINS @5:00PM
THURSDAY, AUGUST 16TH - FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Starting Sept 4th, every Tuesday evening at 7:00.
GriefShare Program Starting at
Springfield First United Methodist Church
This program features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The DVD seminar features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion about what was viewed. Many grieving people find they are only beginning the work of healing when friends or family have returned to their daily life routines. Too often people, including Christians, tend to stuff their grief instead of allowing it to do the God-given work for which it is intended. Don’t allow fear of what others may think to keep you from what could help you. Confidentiality is very much a part of this program. Your bereavement experience may be recent or not so recent. You will find encouragement, comfort and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family member or friend. No matter what the cause of your loved one’s death, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling. You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and that you do not need to live in bondage to certain emotions. You will learn valuable information about facing your new normal in life and renewing your hope for the future.
GriefShare will be held Tuesday evenings @ 7:00 in the Church library.
Cost: $20.00 if able - covers the cost of materials
Child care: when requested

CASS COUNTY CASA
5TH ANNUAL GOLF BENEFIT
QUARRY OAKS,
AUGUST 11, 2012
Cass County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Hobscheidt/Henry Pro Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram announce a very special fundraiser to benefit Cass County CASA! The 5th Annual Golf Benefit will take place at Quarry Oaks Golf Club, 16600 Quarry Oaks Drive in Ashland on Saturday, August 11th. Registration begins at 11:30 am with a boxed lunch. Shotgun start at 1:00 pm, with dinner and prizes starting at 5:30 pm.
Proceeds will benefit the Cass County CASA Program, donor-supported volunteer organization whose mission is to offer court-approved volunteer advocacy to children that are abused, neglected and often find themselves lost in the court system. Through Cass County CASA, these children are placed with advocates that speak on their behalf and know them well enough to make informed recommendations to the judge.
Register today to participate and guarantee your spot! $100 golfer registration fee covers ALL COSTS, includes 18 holes of golf, cart fees, box lunch, dinner, awards, and prizes.
This is a great way to have fun with friends and support others in our community. For more information visit the event page on our website at http://casscasa.org/events.php
