DRIVERS EDUCATION CLASSES

Teen drivers account for most of the accidents on roadways today, statistics claim. This raises insurance prices, liability, and even may result in teens losing their license from poor driving. The goal in driving courses and driver education is to give teens the knowledge necessary to firstly pass the driving test on exam day, but also keep them safe with important safety tips and procedures.

Monetary Benefits of Driver Education Courses

Many insurance companies allow for reduced prices in insurance costs to teens who have taken driver's education classes. The insurance form is giving out after the teen student passes the course.

The improved safety knowledge while driving also makes teens less prone to accidents and wrecks. This keeps insurance rates as low as possible, since wrecks often make insurance rates skyrocket. Sadly, even getting in a wreck in which the teen driver was not at fault can raise insurance prices- so teens should be aware of other drivers driving recklessly on the road.

Driver's education also stresses that obeying the speed limit and driving with caution is the best way to go. This helps save on tickets or other violations that can cost hundreds of dollars. It also produces less strain on vehicles, in which they would otherwise be pushed to the limit by excessive speeds or reckless maneuvers. With less strain comes longer life- which means less money spent on vehicles.

Final Thoughts on Driver's Education Courses

Enlisting a teen into a driver's education course is a smart decision. Not only is there monetary benefit, which is always nice, but once the teen pass’s the driver's class they receive a green waiver which gets turned  in to the DMV for their Provisional Operator’s Permit License... This is nice, since not every parent can afford to take off work multiple times in case their children don't pass the exam.

Enrolling in a driver's education course will assuredly provide all the necessary experience to get on the right track.

Driver ED course starts at Plattview HS September 8, 15, 22, 29 October 6th CLASSROOM TIME: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Driving time is schedule with the Student Driver. Call the HS for more information 402-597-8551

griefshare

Starting Sept 4th, every Tuesday evening at 7:00

GriefShare Program Starting at

Springfield First United Methodist Church

This program features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The DVD seminar features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion about what was viewed. Many grieving people find they are only beginning the work of healing when friends or family have returned to their daily life routines. Too often people, including Christians, tend to stuff their grief instead of allowing it to do the God-given work for which it is intended. Don’t allow fear of what others may think to keep you from what could help you. Confidentiality is very much a part of this program. Your bereavement experience may be recent or not so recent. You will find encouragement, comfort and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family member or friend. No matter what the cause of your loved one’s death, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling. You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and that you do not need to live in bondage to certain emotions. You will learn valuable information about facing your new normal in life and renewing your hope for the future.

GriefShare will be held Tuesday evenings @ 7:00 in the Church library.

Cost: $20.00 if able - covers the cost of materials

Child care: when requested

Any questions, call 402-253-2270 or 402-290-1527.

To register, call the church office 402-253-2270 by August 31st.

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY:

This Changes Everything

We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!

So far in the Springfield community alone, FPU has reached 17 families.  Those families paid down $62,000 in debt and saved $26,000 within the first 3 months!  This class is helpful and it’s common-sense concepts really work.  Read the testimonial below from a former FPU class member.

**Testimonial** Financial Peace University changed our household for the better. The class taught us to do so many things better when it comes to our money. Today, a year later, the difference is remarkable. The class works for people in any situation, age or financial position. The course work really applies to just about everyone. You can't say "that's not for me."

Talking about money is not always the easiest thing to do. The FPU class gives clear, engaging (and fun!) ways to get serious about your household finances. Dave Ramsey's direction on money management is also more than just a financial "how to" - it can also improve your faith and relationship with Christ.   - Darren and Katie

Class begins Tuesday, September 11th at 6:30pm at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield.  For more information about the class please click the following links:  It's Time for Financial Peace: http://youtu.be/jw_BoZPck9I or Class Preview: http://youtu.be/N4QOgFLdkCoContact Suzi Miller at 402-490-0982 to sign up today!
