JR. TROJAN FOOTBALL REGISTRATION
Registration is now open for both flag football and tackle football. Go to www.platteviewjrtrojans.com and click on Register tab at the top of the page.
Flag football fields teams for kids in kindergarten and first/second grades. These games are played at the LaVista Sports Complex on Saturdays.
Tackle football fields teams at the third/fourth grade level and fifth/sixth grade level.
Tackle Football Information
Fees: $60, includes pads, mouthguard and uniform.
Schedule: Equipment checkout will be in late July before the first practice. Practice will begin in late July with games starting in mid-August and will be weekly through mid-October. Games are played at Platteview High School and in surrounding communities.
Effective this fall, SYAA will no longer provide helmets to players. Teams will be wearing stock white helmets with gray face masks. Parents may purchase helmets through Nebraska Sports. They can take their player to Nebraska Sports to be properly fitted and order the helmet through them. Helmets at different price levels will be available. Parents must be sure they state they are there with SYAA Football. This is simply an option and parents may purchase their player’s helmet wherever they wish, however, helmets must fit properly.
SYAA will continue to provide shoulder pads, mouth pieces, game jersey, and football pants for each player.
Parents are encouraged to visit the EVW website at: www.evwfootball.com for additional information, concussion awareness info and league rules.
Tackle football registration is open until June 20, 2013.
