SCOUTS

The Webelos II Scouts (5th grade Scouts) of Pack 389 had a busy Saturday on November 21.  First, they spent the morning getting a tour of the Springfield Memorial Library.  Connie Manzer gave the Scouts a very through and informative breakdown that showed the Scouts that the library is more than just books -  it is a community resource of many types of information and helpful programs.

Later that evening, they joined other Cub Scouts from Pack 389 at the Ralston Arena for Scout Night with the Omaha Lancers hockey team.  Pack 389 was one of the lucky groups to be selected for a tour of the arena.  They were also able to be the first to welcome the team as they came out of the locker room to take the ice to face the Waterloo Blackhawks.  The Scouts had a great time and the Lancers won the game 4-3.

Springfield's millinery shop, Margie Trembley Chapeaux, is hosting an exhibit of award winning milliners, 4 from the US and one from Ireland. This exhibit coincides with a Platte River Christmas and the sixth anniversary of Springfield Artworks, both being celebrated at the boutique/gallery in November and December.

"All of the hats are coming from my favorite fiber artist & millinery teachers. I feel so fortunate to have these available for area residents to come see." says Margie Trembley. The exhibit opened Sunday, Nov 1st and continues through Dec 23.
