COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE

On a cold damp Sunday, the St Joseph Knights (Sponsor) and the Red Cross want to thank all who donated and attempted to donate Blood. We collected 43 units, so we made our goal. Also want to thank all who were involved  in making this possible again ( Springfield Merchants, Fire Department, and anyone I overlooked).
Please mark your calendar for Sunday Feb. 14th for our schedule next drive.

HANNA JORGENSEN, JONATHAN OLTMAN TO BE MARRIED

Dane and Julie Jorgensen of Waterloo have announced the engagement of their daughter, Hanna Diane Jorgensen, to Johnathan Thomas Oltman, son of Tom and Mary Oltman of Papillion, Nebraska.Hanna is the granddaughter of Pauline and the late Ralph Wilson of Waterloo. JT’s grandparents are Fred and JoAnn Ostransky of Springfield, Nebraska and Beverly and the late Ralph “Bud” Oltman of Bellevue.

Hanna graduated from Metropolitan Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Commercial Photography, then attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She is employed as the Communications Director for the Omaha Area Board of REALTORS®.

JT also graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Business. He is employed as a farm manager of Western Iowa for Farmers National Company.

A February 2016 wedding is planned, and the couple will live in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

AWARD WINNING EXHIBIT COMES TO SPRINGFIELD

Springfield's millinery shop, Margie Trembley Chapeaux, is hosting an exhibit of award winning milliners, 4 from the US and one from Ireland. This exhibit coincides with a Platte River Christmas and the sixth anniversary of Springfield Artworks, both being celebrated at the boutique/gallery in November and December.

"All of the hats are coming from my favorite fiber artist & millinery teachers. I feel so fortunate to have these available for area residents to come see." says Margie Trembley. The exhibit opened Sunday, Nov 1st and continues through Dec 23.
