Students in Springfield and all of South Sarpy School District #46 are heading back to class today.   No more sleeping in, hanging out all day with friends, and doing what you want to each and every summer day.  It’s time to adjust to that new school day schedule for teachers and students.  So, pack up those school supplies, prepare your lunch, and march on back to school. Have fun, make new friends, and meet new teachers. Celebrate your back to school adventure!

*** New Monday schedule for South Sarpy Schools- School begins one hour later than the regular scheduled  time.

mpj043727300001.jpgThe S.O. E. (Save Our Earth) club is a group of young Springfield area students dedicated to caring for our planet, Earth. The club began last spring and continued to meet throughout the summer months at the Springfield Memorial Library. During meeting sessions, the students discussed ways to help the environment, held bake sales to raise funds, and will aid the Library in its effort to recycle. Also planned is a “Go Green” fun event at Buffalo Park. All 4-10 year olds are invited to attend on Saturday, September 6 from 2:00-3:30pm. Crafts, hands-on activities, games and snacks are planned. Parents will help supervise.

Homer and Marge Simpson were seen hanging out in front of Springfield Drug last week. They wanted to say “Good-bye” to Larry Peters, our retiring UPS delivery man!
