“IT HAPPENED IN SPRINGFIELD HISTORY”
In 1922, according to state railway records, Sarpy County shipped more milk than any other county in Nebraska. Springfield held the record for shipping the most milk. Milk was transported on the Missouri Pacific railroad which ran through town. Mr. Wright operated Springfield’s creamery. The photo shows the depot agent, Mr. Geib, with Mr. Wright, Standing above is Mr. Ellis, the drayman, driver of the flatbed which transported the milk to be shipped.
