SPRINGFIELD CEMETERY FUNDRAISER
Springfield Cemetery is asking for donations to pave the cemetery streets. Every other year it costs $9000 to resurface the asphalt. Winter is coming soon. Roads will be tricky to navigate. Please help raise $100,000 to install pavement. A Go Fund Me page is set up. Please help: https://www.gofundme.com/springfield-cemetary-association

“IT HAPPENED IN SPRINGFIELD HISTORY”
Henry Morris in front of his cave
Old Henry with Springfield High class sponsor, Mr. Holbein
Henry Morris was Springfield’s original “hippie”. Known to all as Old Henry, he lived in a cave southwest of town. He became disillusioned with life in general and was sure civilization was doomed. He ate what he could hunt or what neighbors gave him. Now and then he got a meal at a farmhouse or if that was not enough, he helped himself to food in gardens or fields. People came from Omaha, Lincoln, and miles around to see how he lived and to talk to him. It was a yearly event for classes from Springfield High School to visit Old Henry.

WHY IS THE CENSUS IMPORTANT? The information collected in the 2020 Census will help determine how more than $675 billion of federal funding is distributed each year. Help make Sarpy County count!
The Schramm Speaker Series has been a great success and we sincerely thank all how have attended! However, because space is limited in our classroom, we now require a registration from those wishing to attend to ensure all patrons comfortably enjoy the event.
