It Happened in Springfield
KINDERGARTEN FIELD TRIP
On September 1, 1988, teacher Mrs. Carol Dill took her Springfield Elementary kindergarten class on a field trip to explore the downtown business area of Springfield. The purpose was to introduce the students to the local businesses in their community. Their tour concluded with a stop at Springfield Drug and Soda Fountain on Main Street, where the children enjoyed a tasty ice cream treat. The kindergarten class was fortunate to take this trip for many years and end their experience with ice cream at the soda fountain. What a fantastic field trip experience!

COME ON OVER!

This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity.  People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.

Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.

The last few days of summer in Nebraska are nothing short of magical! The skies are painted with vibrant sunsets that reflect golden hues across the wide-open plains, while the warm breeze carries the scent of late-blooming wildflowers. It’s the perfect time to enjoy a serene evening by the lake, casting a line or taking a leisurely boat ride as the sun dips below the horizon. Farmers markets are brimming with the season’s final harvest, offering a taste of fresh, homegrown goodness before the crisp autumn air rolls in. Whether it's a quiet walk through the countryside or a backyard BBQ with friends, Farewell Summer of 2024, we enjoyed nature’s beauty of Summer.
