It Happen in Springfield

Starting around 1965, the Springfield Merchants Drawing provided a twenty dollar cash prize to a
winner of a weekly drawing if they were present; otherwise, the cash was returned to the "kitty" for the following week. The cash prize money accumulated until a winner was present for the weekly drawing.
In February 3, 1973 the program was modified to award the winner a twenty dollar certificate to redeem at participating businesses. The winner still had to be present at one of the Springfield businesses. If the winner wasn’t present the twenty dollar certificate carried over to the following week. Drawings were held every Saturday at a different business and were a significant attraction to The weekly event was held every Saturday in Springfield until 1983, when the drawing ended due to declining interest.

In January 1973 William Beck, Sr. won $220 from the Springfield Merchant Drawing. It was the
highest amount ever awarded at the time. He was at Latham Lumber when his name was drawn.

Fit Tip of the Week

Walk This Way!

Walking is one of the simplest and most effective ways to improve your fitness. Whether it’s a brisk morning walk, a lunchtime stroll, or an evening cooldown, walking strengthens your heart, boosts your mood, and supports joint health. Try adding extra steps to your day—park farther away, take the stairs, or go for a short walk after meals.

For an extra challenge, walk with light weights, increase your pace, or explore new trails. Every step counts toward a healthier you!

Do you know the difference between a scheduled roof and replacement cost coverage? It can make a big impact when it comes time to file a claim!

A scheduled roof policy depreciates the value of your roof over time, meaning you could get less than expected for repairs or replacement. Replacement cost coverage, on the other hand, covers the full cost to replace your roof at today’s prices.

Not sure what coverage you have? Call Rachel,  I’ll review your policy, explain your coverage, and provide a hassle-free quote. Protect your home the right way!

COME ON OVER!

This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity.  People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.

Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.
