Welcome Back
Hey Springfield, Is your home still showcasing a mix of St. Patrick's Day greens, New Year's sparkles, or even autumn hues? If, like me, you have fall angels holding onto 2024 leaves, it might be time to refresh your decor for spring. Luckily, Springfield offers charming stores to brighten up our homes.

Another fun gem is ReMain, located at 192 Main Street. This store focuses on repurposing and restoring quality pieces, blending vintage charm with modern flair. They also spotlight local artisans, offering items such as specialty coffees and delightful handcrafted soaps, making it a hub for community creativity. I recently discovered their groovy jewelry collection and couldn't resist a pair of unique earrings. Plus, I found some super cool bookends—items I didn't know I needed, but it was love at first glance.
If you're looking for a unique gift, stop by Springfield Artworks! They have some stunning handcrafted pieces, including water-printed cards that are absolutely beautiful. Perfect for any occasion!

It Happen in Springfield
In October 1978, a group of veterans met for the first time to discuss the possibility of forming a Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Springfield. After successfully organizing, the new Springfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post was established on Monday April 3, 1979. The first meeting was called to order by the Nebraska VFW Jr. Vice Commander. The first order of business was to formally inaugurate the new Springfield Post and give the oath of obligations to the new members by the State Commander. New officers were elected to their positions. Officers installed included: Gary Randel, Commander; Gene Hamilton, Sr., Vice Commander; Ed Radil, Jr. Vice Commander; Jerry Ward, Adjunct-Quartermaster; Steve Stark, Norm Rhoten, and Nile Kerr as Trustees; Gene Richards, Chaplin. New VFW members also
present: Joe Schram and Larry Hagen.

What Happens When Your Neighbor’s Property Becomes a Hazard?
Most people think of trees falling into their yard, but what about grain bins, trampolines, or even old farm equipment? Severe weather can turn large objects into projectiles, causing damage or safety concerns... what to do? Communication! A friendly discussion can often lead to a fair solution. Ring ring, pick up your stuff please.
If Your Neighbor’s Tree Falls in Your Yard, It Becomes Your Tree"
Who’s Responsible? If a healthy tree from your neighbor’s yard falls into yours due to a storm, you’re typically responsible for cleanup. Insurance usually doesn’t cover it unless it damages your home or other structures.
When Does Insurance Kick In? If the tree causes property damage, your homeowner’s policy may help with repairs (minus the deductible).
What About Prevention? If a tree is visibly dead or a known hazard, your neighbor might be liable—but only if there was prior written notice of the risk.
The Good Neighbor Approach – Sometimes, it’s best to just talk to your neighbor and split the cost of cleanup.

COME ON OVER!
This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity. People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.
Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.
