Hey Springfield, have you taken a cruise down Main Street lately? If so, you’ve probably noticed the signs reminding us about the School Bond Special Election on February 10, 2026.
If you haven’t received your official mail-in ballot, now’s the time to check in.
This election includes an important question for Sarpy District 046 — Springfield Platteview Community Schools (SPCS) about issuing bonds in a total principal amount not to exceed $79,900,000 to support school facilities, safety, growth, and student programs.
Ballots were mailed to all registered voters in the district and must be returned by February 10, 2026.

Emails were sent out with a link to sign up for a conference time.
-Conferences are on Wednesday, February 11th & Thursday February 12th.
-Both conference days are 1:25 release schedules.
-Friday the 13th (comp day) and Monday the 16th (President's Day) there is no school.
-Conferences begin at 2:00, teachers break for dinner 5-5:30, then conferences continue until 7:30.
The Platteview Booster Club is gearing up for our Bowling Fundraiser on Friday, February 7th, and we need your help to make it a great success!
We are currently collecting donations for our raffle and silent auction, and your support can make a huge impact. Whether it’s team-branded items, gear, gift baskets, gift cards, or creative experience-based donations, every contribution helps us create an exciting event that draws strong community participation.
Most importantly, the funds raised go right back into supporting your programs—enhancing opportunities for our student-athletes and activity groups.

Springfield History
Springfield Memorial Library Marks Its 100th Anniversary
Springfield Memorial Library is proudly celebrating its one-hundred-year anniversary.
Established in 1926 by the Springfield Woman's Club, the library found its first home in a space
generously donated by Otto Joern within his grocery store building on Main Street.
The library was situated on the second floor of Joern's establishment.
Community members contributed books, while volunteers from the Springfield Woman's
Club dedicated their time to support the library's operations.
A library committee, comprising Miss Gertrude Smith, Miss Clara Mueller, Miss Stella
Starry, Mrs. Joe Elwell, and Mrs. Grover Armstrong, managed its governance.
After two years, thanks to the efforts of Mrs. C. R. Caley, the town board approved a one-mill
levy to fund the library's maintenance and appoint a librarian. The first official librarian was Mrs.
Rose Davis, who served in this role for five years.
