THANK YOU

Blood Drive update: Once again thanks to all who took time to donate Blood on Sunday 9-11-11. Our goal for the drive was 34 units and we banked 38 again, the Springfield Pride Shines! I apologize if you had to wait longer than usual (we are working on this to see if we can avoid this problem in the future). Our next drive is scheduled for Sunday Dec 11th. Please mark your calendars and again thanks for the support and great job.  The Springfield Knights of Columbus Sponsors: Ralph Meister Coordinator

Combine the warmth and charm of "On Golden Pond" with the plot twists of "Deathtrap."  Cliffhanger is an old-fashioned thriller with a little bit of heartbreak and hearty laughs.
This comedy/thriller, written by James Yaffe is the story of Henry Lowenthal (Bob Pinkerton of Weeping Water) who is looking forward to being appointed to an endowed chair position at his small college so that he and his wife can enjoy their golden years with honor.  However, their plans are given a jolt when a ruthlessly ambitious woman informs Henry that she is not recommending him for the chair position.
Directed by Kevin Colbert, the cast also includes Cheryl Grimshaw and Melinda Mead of Plattsmouth, Joshua P. Smith of La Vista and Benjimam Pettiford of Lincoln.
Murder!  Mayhem!  Blackmail!  Find these things and more at the Lofte Community Theatre September 3, 4, 9-11, and 15-18.  Tickets are $17.  Please contact the Loftebox office at (402) 234-2553 or purchase online at www.Lofte.com

Greenblatt & Seay proudly announce the FIFTEENTH ANNUAL SCHOOLHOUSE FIDDLING BEE.  This historical, hysterical event will take place on Sunday, October 9, at 2:30 PM, downstairs in the Old Avoca, Nebraska Schoolhouse.  In the Open Division, fiddlers will play a hoedown, a waltz, and a tune of choice.  There will also be other divisions of competition available for the adventurous fiddlers, including a Singing Fiddler's Contest, a Twin Fiddler's Contest, a Fee-Fi-Faux Fiddler's Contest (fiddle tunes played on any instrument other than a fiddle), and a Hocus-Pocus Contest (cross-tuning, sound effects, dancing, etc.), which will give fiddlers an opportunity to play tunes that are usually not allowed in any other contest.  The prizes for the winners in the Open Division are $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and $25 for 3rd place.  Prizes will also be awarded for 1st place in the other contests. Registration for contestants starts at 1:30 PM the day of the FIDDLING BEE.  Admission is $10.00 for adult, $5.00 for students, and $1.00 for children.  Fiddlers and their back-ups are admitted for free.  For more information, call 402-275-3221, log on to www.greenblattandseay.com, or e-mailThis email address is being protected from spambots.
