Weiss Studio and Gardens will host their 5th annual Fall Art Festival on September 20 and 21. Come out to the visit with local artists, tour the gardens, and enjoy a wonderful day out in the country. Featured artists include: Todd Hansen, Katherine Krug, Amy Ramsey, Mark Rexinger, Bob Schipper, Sara Summick Wamsat, Adam Weiss, Carl Weiss and Pete Wroblewski. Keep your fingers crossed. The forecast for this weekend is calling for fantastic fall weather!

What could be better than football season in the great state of Nebraska? Well, how about volleyball, golf, cross country, and all high school sports in Nebraska? There is a website dedicated to all athletic sports programs across the state. Check it out here:
A special Town Hall Meeting will be held at Springfield City Hall on September 23 at 7:00pm. This meeting is being called to discuss the possibility of the city contracting with one trash company to provide trash removal and recycling for the city. All residents are invited to attend and offer their input. Trash hauling companies will present information about the services they provide during the meeting. Hope to see you there!
The Mayor’s newsletter sent out this week included information on the construction for the Springfield Trail Phase 3 and the amounts awarded for the completion of this enhancement to our community. Donations can also be made for the development of the Trail. A sign has been posted at the trailhead located on Platteview Rd. that offers suggestions for contributions. Examples include: cash, time, and In-kind donations. Please consider helping!
The S.O.E. (Save Our Earth) Club recently donated a paper recycling receptacle to the Springfield Memorial Library. Members of the club held Bake Sales during the summer to raise funds for their effort to help the planet and raise awareness of ways to “go green”. The Library would like to thank the S.O.E. Club for this donation and helping with the library’s recycling plan.
